The Family Pantry of Cape Cod will be closed Thursday 1/29

Director Emeritus George Morris passed away January 21, 2015 surrounded by his family. The Board of Directors of The Family Pantry of Cape Cod was truly saddened to lose such a forward thinking man.

Twenty-five years ago he and others from the St. Vincent De Paul Society of Holy Trinity Church realized that they could not keep up with financial aid to people in need of food. That motivated them to create the Family Pantry. Morris spent his entire retirement managing the Pantry since its inception as a small storefront on Route 28 until two years ago when at 86 he stepped back. The pantry grew to over 400 volunteers helping over 900 families in need while he was a part of the organization.

The current Board of Directors would like to express it’s sympathy to his wife of 68 years, Mary Eileen Daly Morris his daughter Mary Morris Anderson the Pantry’s Executive Director and son Stephen. His vast knowledge, wisdom and caring was an example to all, which inspired many to follow him in helping feed and clothe those in need on Cape Cod.         Click here for Obituary
