Volunteers of the Year

Volunteers of the year: This year we had two Volunteer of the Year awards – one for the pantry and one for the thrift shop.

Pantry Volunteer of the Year

Richie Graveline works in the warehouse Tuesday and Thursday mornings stocking the shelves and the refrigerators. Richie received multiple nominations and is well respected by all of the volunteers. A sampling of the comments is below:

• Hardworking, dedicated, always jumps in to help
• Fills in for others on vacation
• Keeps a good eye on the inventory
• Always pleasant & polite despite how busy he is
• It is a pleasure to work with him
• Does whatever is needed to make each shift run smoothly
• Is a valued member of the turkey team for Thanksgiving & Christmas
• Helps on other days when he can

Second Glance Volunteer of the Year

Joan Thompson works at the thrift shop on Fridays for both the morning and afternoon shifts and has become a valued asset to the store. Below are some comments from her nomination:

• Non stop worker: steaming, selling, pricing.
• Arranges jewelry case and shelves weekly
• Reviews clothing racks and arranges by size and color
• Provides excellent customer service
• Helps with customer payments
• Arrives before opening to put sign out on Route 28
• Uses professional knowledge & experience to price items
• Recently made lovely new curtains for the shop with some donated fabric!
