Throughout its history, the orchestra has been committed to bringing audience members exhilarating, emotionally charged music of the highest caliber. Whether a performance is classical, pops or educational in nature, CCSO listeners are always challenged, satisfied and engaged.

The CCSO began as a small, all-volunteer symphonic ensemble, holding its first concert in 1962. Since then, it has evolved into a Cape Cod cultural icon comprised of 85 classically trained, professional musicians who are passionate about what they do. These musicians - together with stellar guest artists, generous sponsors and supporters, enthusiastic volunteers, exceptional staff and trustees, as well as world-class artistic directorship and innovative programming, have made the CCSO what it is today.
