A Garden Kick-off event was held on Wednesday February 2, 2011 to introduce the Family Pantry Garden and solicit time, materials, and labor that will make this garden project a success.
You can be involved in making this dream become a reality. The Town of Harwich has already granted us a long term lease on a garden plot located behind the pantry, and now we are looking for construction volunteers, volunteers to adopt a section of garden to maintain, “WISH LIST” donors, and annual sponsors. This Garden will give back to the community by providing fresh produce to the clients at The Family Pantry and provide community plots for volunteers and clients.
Our Executive Garden Committee members are: Board member Sara Chase, Board Member Don Milbier, Kyle Milbier, and Assistant Director Patty Watson. The project has already begun thanks to groundbreaking volunteers, John Our of Robert B. Our Co., Don and Kyle Milbier of Patrissi Landscaping, and Mike Mann of the Tree Co., who are donating time, materials, equipment to clear the garden area.
