Clients:

A. When are you open to distribute food and clothing?

      Tuesdays 10:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.

Thursdays 10:00 a.m. – 12 noon, 1:30 – 3:30 p.m., 5:00– 7:00 p.m.

Saturdays 10:00 a.m. – 12 noon

B. What do I need to get started?

     The first time you come to the Pantry, we will interview you briefly to confirm your eligibility for assistance and obtain needed information about your household. Please bring with you your driver’s license or other form of identification that shows your name, address, and birth date. Please bring similar documentation of the names, addresses, and birth dates of others in your household for whom you are requesting assistance (i.e. Birth certificates of children of the household, license copy of a spouse…).

Volunteers:

A. When are you open to volunteer?

    At The Family Pantry FOOD PANTRY:

Tuesdays 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.

Thursdays 7:00 a.m. – 12 noon, 1:30 – 3:30 p.m., 5:00– 7:00 p.m.

Saturdays 7:00 a.m. – 12 noon

   At The Family Pantry SECOND GLANCE THRIFT STORE

        Tuesday – Saturday 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

        During the summer months, Mondays 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

B. What do volunteers do at The Family Pantry?

    The Family Pantry has many different volunteer job positions. The main positions at The Family Pantry are pantry food distribution, warehouse stocking, clothes sorting, redemption can sorting, and gardening. Also, our thrift store, Second Glance, has retail clothing volunteer positions.

C. Can I come as an individual?

Absolutely! We seek individuals who can commit to a regular schedule of volunteering one 3 hour shift each week. All volunteers fill out a simple application. “CLICK HERE” for our application page to print. D. Can we come as a group?

Yes, groups can work on special projects in the warehouse or join in on work days in the garden.

E. Can The Family Pantry accommodate volunteers with special needs?

We evaluate all special needs situations individually, but we are happy to try and accommodate specials needs. To discuss your situation, please contact our Assistant Director, Patty Watson at 508-432-6519, pwatson@thefamilypantry.com.

F. Can I do my community service at The Family Pantry?

Yes, we accept both court ordered and school, church or other required community service applicants, however individual approval is required.

G. What should I wear to volunteer?

Attire for most of the volunteer positions is appropriate comfortable clothes with The Family Pantry Apron, a name tag and close-toed shoes.

H. Is there an age restriction?

Yes, our volunteers need to be 15 years old, unless accompanied by an adult.

A. When can I stop by to donate food, clothing, or financial support?

      Tuesdays 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.

Thursdays 7:00 a.m. – 12 noon, 1:30 – 3:30 p.m., 5:00– 7:00 p.m.

Saturdays 7:00 a.m. – 12 noon

B. Do you accept small household items?

Yes we accept kitchen ware, linens, small household appliances, and decorative household items. We do NOT accept furniture of any kind, electronics, used toys, car seats, or large appliances.

C. What are the most needed food items to advertize at our company’s food drive?

     __ Canned Tuna/Salmon in Water

     __ Peanut Butter

     __ Brown Rice

     __ Whole Wheat Pasta

     __ Healthy All-Fruit Jams and Jellies

     __ Low Sodium Canned Vegetables

     __ Low Sodium Hearty Soups

     __ Powdered Milk

     __ We also accept new unwrapped toys for our Christmas toy program.
